Therapy sessions involve both direct support for your child and collaboration with you, the parent or carer, to ensure strategies are understood and used consistently at home or school.

What are Therapy Sessions?

Speech and language therapy sessions are personalised and engaging, with goals tailored to your child’s unique needs. Sessions are designed not just for the child, but with the parent in mind - so you feel confident supporting progress between sessions.

Sessions can take place:

  • In your home

  • In your child’s school or nursery

  • Online via a secure video platform

What's Included?

  • Direct therapy with your child

  • Parent/guardian attendance to observe and learn techniques

  • Time for discussion, modelling, and explanation of activities

  • Strategies and resources to use at home between sessions

  • Homework notes emailed or discussed, depending on need

  • Indirect input such as session planning, liaison with professionals, or resource prep as needed

  • Typically, sessions include:

    • 45 minutes of direct therapy

    • 15 minutes of indirect input (e.g., planning, feedback, liaison)
